MY STORY

I grew up as the nerdy overachiever type (back before it was cool) in a suburb outside of Sacramento. I decided to go to the University of San Diego, where I earned a B.B.A in Marketing with a minor in Economics. At USD I was involved with a lot of great organizations like the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta, the American Marketing Association, Mortar Board, Order of Omega and a few other things. I was able to study abroad for a semester at an international college in Oxford, England (an experience that changed my life). I interned with two tech companies, and now I’m working my dream job in a Silicon Valley enterprise marketing group. There were a lot of ups and downs, and many learning experiences.

Throughout my life, there has always been one cause that has sparked me: elevating and promoting women. My grandmother grew up in San Francisco, and was accepted to study at Stanford University. But, her parents hid the letter and sent her to an all-girls college where she could find a husband instead. We’re in a new generation from my grandmother, but still have a unique perspective and set of problems that we face socially, emotionally, and in our careers. The idea for HER HAPPYHOUR came from wanting to create another narrative  that supports women like me and my friends, and hopefully help them feel more connected and inspired.
