I take vitamins for every reason under the vitamin color rainbow. Some I take because doctors have told me I needed to, some I take as natural remedies to things like stress, and others I take for beauty (Bobbi Brown says the future of Health and Beauty is going towards natural remedies for an inside-out regiment). Here are the vitamins I take on a regular basis.
1.B12
My sophomore year of college I started feeling extra exhausted and was unable to focus or sit still in class. I mentioned it to my doctor, and after some blood tests he confirmed that I was B12 deficient. Most people get their B12 from meat or animal byproducts like milk, cheese and eggs. I was minimizing my meat intake, and had become recently lactose intolerant-- which is probably why I was feeling it so acutely. They gave me B12 shots to give me a jumpstart, and now I've been taking B12 vitamins and feel so much better. B12 deficiency is not uncommon if you're not balancing your diet, and a quick test could make you feel a lot better.
2. Goodbye Stress
A.K.A the real "chill pill". These little guys are amazing when I need to calm down. They are made with GABA (starts helping in like 30-60min), L-Theanine, & Lemon Balm (old-school way of relaxing).
3. Probiotics
"Gut Health" is one of the trendiest things that you can do for your health right now- and there is a reason for it. Probiotics are basically the good bacteria that help keep your entire body running smoothly (not just your digestive system). Probiotics are here to stay, and are already making an appearance in the health and beauty world.
4. Hair, Skin, and Nail
You may have seen them as gummies, or the shiny pink pills, but these guys give you a shot of biotin to help you grow and maintain all the essentials in life (hair flip).
5. Omega-3
Omega-3 is the good fatty acid that your body uses to help prevent and help a multitude of bad things that range from preventing heart problems to helping your asthma.
Omega-3 comes from fish oil... salmon is my favorite fish so I like the Omega-3 that comes from Salmon the best... bon appétit...
6. Melatonin
Was writing this section... but then got to tired and had to take a nap... (lol). Sometimes I need some extra help going to sleep and staying asleep, and these do just the trick.
7. Turmeric
This was one of those "my mom told me to take it, so I take it" kind of situations. It's the main spice in curry, and is suppose to be good for you for a number of reasons like helping with inflammation, depression, and preventing things like cancer.
8. Flax Seed Oil
Another "wonder pill" that is good for you for many reasons. I take it to aid in digestion, heart health, and it's high in a form of Omega-3 (when I don't feel like taking my salmon ones).
9. Cranberry Pills
These little ruby pills are a powerful antioxidant that help me fight off colds, and they are good for your urinary tract (fun!), they also have no added sugar.
Now that I took all my vitamins, time to start kitting and baking cookies.
